Still Life in Spain

This photo collection is a series of still lifes, taken during my sabbatical in Madrid 2024.

The prompt of ‘still life’ was inspired by the work of Spanish artist Isabel Quintanilla, after visiting her retrospective at the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza. What struck me most was her 'intimate realism' paintings of the everyday: her partner in his office, a flower in a glass vase, the mundane details of her apartment.

In my attempt to make a home in Madrid and build a foundation with my partner, this is the film that came forth.
